Easy to Get Pickaxe Teraria Early Game Beginner
If you play Terraria, then you're probably familiar with all of the amazing weapons you can find and craft! There's just so many to choose from!
. . .But there's a catch: You can't get them instantly. When first starting the game, you won't find very many strong weapons.
This makes sense, since having the best of the best weapons at the start ruins the whole premise of Terraria.
But don't worry!
There is one starting weapon that stands out amongst the rest. The weapon I'm about to show you will greatly improve your strength. In this quick guide, I'll show you how to craft the best weapon when first starting Terraria.

What is it?
It is… The Ebonwood and Shadewood bows!
They may look pretty boring, but don't underestimate them!
These weapons, combined with specific (but cheap!) arrows will fly you through the early game of Terraria!
It's even effective against weaker bosses, such as the Eye of Cthulhu.
Crafting
The reason why I recommend this weapon so much is because not only is it cheap, but you can also get it once you start the game!
Here's what you will need to craft one of these two bows:
Depending on what evil your world has, you will need to travel to either the Crimson or Corruption biome.
There, you will want to chop down the trees, collecting either ebonwood, or shadewood. I recommend collecting as much wood as possible, and I'll explain why later.
Once you get the wood from your respective biome, head back to your base to start crafting!
Here's what you will want to craft (at a basic work bench):
Note that you will craft the "Shadewood Bow" instead if you play on a crimson world.
From earlier, I recommended collecting as much wood as you could. Here's why:
Crafting a weapon has a chance to give it a random modifier. Since these two bows are so cheap, you might as well try to squeeze in a little more damage, right?
You will want to go for the "demonic" modifier, which is the best modifier you can get with this weapon:
If you're not convinced on the importance of getting the best modifier, consider this:
While using the Ebonwood Bow with the its best modifier (demonic), I was able to get around 40 damage per second, while reaching up to 86 dps.
On the other hand, an unmodified bow dealt around 35 dps, while reaching upwards of 70 dps.
Even though these numbers may not be completely accurate (there's a lot of factors like armor, critical hit chance, and accessories) it still gets the point across that you can easily deal (at least) 5 more damage, and all it takes is a couple minutes!
Now that you know how to make the best weapon when starting Terraria, there's just one more thing I want to point out:
What kind of arrow should you use?
There is one type of arrow that really shines at the start of Terraria. Not only for being extremely cheap, but also because of how early you can get it! It complements the Ebonwood and Shadewood bow for this reason, since you can get them both at the same time!
It is…. The frostburn arrow!
Frostburn Arrows
Don't worry, these arrows are extremely easy to craft!
All you will need is to collect ice from the snow biome.
This will only take a few minutes to acquire, since you likely already found one of these biomes!
With the ice, you want to first craft ice torches:
You will then craft turn these torches into frost arrows, with basic wooden arrows.

And…. That's about it! Now you have a great starting weapon, and are ready to take on the world of Terraria!
